Windsor
Castle has been the site of
a Royal compound since William
the Conqueror and has over
the centuries been
builtinto the largest inhabited
castle in the world today.
Although
occasional monarchs and their consorts were buried at the castle
from the 15th century it wasn't until the 19th century that St
George's Chapel
and (in the case of Queen Victoria) the nearby Frogmore
Housesuperceded
Westminster
Abbey
as the chosen burial place for the British monarchy.
The
following is a list of the monarchs who are buried at Windsor.
